The council is now undertaking a pre-engagement process in order to enable the market to shape and inform future decisions.
For example, should the council seek to replace the current poster drums with new 6-sheet poster units or, instead, choose digital advertising screens - subject to planning consent?
As a small council, we are interested in an arrangements whereby we lease the current sites to an operator and we thereby derive a fee or rent.
As explained, we currently have 12 sites along the seafront at Weymouth where advertising drums currently sit, and we are looking for different ways to utilise this space to ensure that the advertising we are doing for local companies and events is at the best quality in terms of presentation of where the advertising takes place on our land.
We are looking into how best to organise our advertising services, and enquire into ways to best modernise or refresh our advertising practices.
We have therefore created a survey to allow contractors/companies to put forward how they would help us to modernise the advertising infrastructure on Weymouth seafront.
If you are interested in helping to look adjust or modernise our current advertising infrastructure please email: procurement@weymouthtowncouncil.gov.uk for a link to the survey before the deadline on the 28th February 2022
