The brief

The Welsh Government ten-year strategy to improve mental health and well-being, Together for Mental Health (2012-2022), encompasses a range of actions to improve the well-being and mental health of all residents in Wales.

The Strategy reinforces the need to promote better well-being and mental health among the whole population and address the needs of those with mental health problems, ensuring that those who are most vulnerable or in need are appropriately prioritised.

There is a focus on improving the lives of Service Users, Carers and their families using a recovery and enablement approach.

In conjunction, the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010, has provided a platform for services to be delivered differently across primary and secondary care.

This has enabled more flexible and targeted use of resources ensuring that people receive support that is more appropriate at the right time by the most appropriate service.

This has been identified as a Primary Care needs within the GP Cluster in both North and South Ceredigion.

Specifically for adults aged eighteen (18) – thirty (30) years and children aged thirteen (13) – seventeen (17) old with mild to moderate mental health concerns to support to all GP Practices within the North and South Ceredigion clusters.
