Funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Welsh Government and Cyngor Gwynedd's Lewyrch o'r Llechi project via UK Levelling Up Funding now offers a real opportunity to re-imagine and re-define the museum within a range of contextual settings – from the hyper-local to the global through the newly achieved UNESCO World Heritage status In addition to conservation and refurbishment of the Grade 1 buildings and original industrial infrastructure there will be a series of access improvements, innovative and sensitively-designed additional gallery space and a contemporary but sympathetic new-build cafe and learning space in newly landscaped surroundings.
