Rotorcraft Concepts and Tactical Aviation Research
This is a large award for Research & Development — above three-quarters of comparable contracts. Based on 20,405 valued Research & Development tenders in our corpus.
Ministry of Defence (DSTL) has published 11 notices across all categories, and 80% of its awards go to a supplier it has used before.
Which is the argument for getting on the list rather than winning this one. The incumbent is rarely the last winner — it is the roster. See the retention odds by category →
To address the future challenges of operating in complex military environments, there is a need to continue research and development of aviation concepts and technologies as MOD looks forward to replacing a number of existing capabilities in the latter part of the 2030’s and beyond.
Dstl requires a Delivery Partner to collaborate in the development and maturation of concepts and technologies for future rotorcraft, and tactical aviation in Contested, Degraded and Operationally-limited (CDO) environments.
The expectation is that the Delivery Partner construct will consist of a suitable organisation to lead a group of companies in a consortium-based approach to benefit from a broad range of relevant expertise, concepts and technologies across the UK industry base.
