The brief

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A SALES CONTRACT, THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR BUYERS TO BUY SCRAP METAL FROM LCC.

This ITQ is seeking bids from organisations who are licensed to collect and purchase mixed scrap ferrous metal (Goods) from our Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS) and Waste Transfer Stations (WTS) located in Leicestershire.

These organisations should be capable of providing ro-ro type containers at each Collection Point and provide an on request reliable collection of scrap and return of container service.

The awarded Buyer will pay for the Goods monthly based on the value and weight of the goods collected during that month both of which will vary month by month.

Value is calculated with reference to the Let's Recycle website for 5c light iron price per ton during the three months prior to collection.

As this is a sales contract, this is not considered a procurement under the Procurement Act 2023, however the Council would like to openly and transparently offer this opportunity publicly.

The value of Lot 4 on this notice has been set a £0 for publication purposes, however it should be noted that should Lot 4 be awarded it will hold an estimated value of Lots 1-3 combined, £3,720,000.
