The University of Portsmouth Higher Education Corporation ("the University") is seeking views from experienced smart-building and digital estate consultancies on its proposal to develop a Smart Building Standards Framework (SBSF) and to receive associated advisory services.
The intention is to create a living, practical set of principles, technical standards and project tools that set out how the University will plan, design, procure and operate smart and connected buildings across its estate.
This programme of work is expected to sit consistently with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Plan of Work 2024 and the RIBA Smart Building Overlay (2024), so that smart requirements can be applied at the right stage on every project.
It will also need to work across Estates, IT, Digital, Security and FM, reflecting the mixed nature of the University's capital, refurbishment and operational activity.
