Smoking Cessation Mass Media Campaign - Yorkshire and Humber

The Humber and North Yorkshire Centre for Excellence in Tobacco Control programme (HNY CfE), which funded by NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB, is dedicated to reducing the harm from tobacco.

HNY CfE aims to reduce smoking rates, and the harm caused by tobacco amongst the local Humber and North Yorkshire population using a multi-strand approach based on best national and international evidence.

The multi-strand approach includes mass media campaigns and advocacy.

NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB has agreed to work with local authority colleagues across, East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, Northern Lincolnshire, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire to pool financial resources to support the delivery of a smoking cessation mass media campaign across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

This will mean the smoking cessation mass media campaign will cover the following local authority areas: Wakefield, Leeds, Kirklees, Calderdale, Bradford, Doncaster, Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, in addition to Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, North East Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, City of York and North Yorkshire.

The smoking cessation mass media campaign across Yorkshire and Humber will to run over an eight-week period in Spring 2025.
