The brief

Staffordshire Police Force would like to notify all potential custodial detention service providers of a forthcoming Soft Market Testing exercise.

The purpose of this exercise will be to discuss with providers the Police Force's high-level plans and strategy for Custodial Detention Services.

Staffordshire Police are keen to hear prospective providers' thoughts and ideas on the potential service models and receive their feedback on the current specification.

Providers that have expressed an interest in this exercise will be allocated a 1-2-1 appointment on Monday 9th July 2018 at Staffordshire Police Headquarters, Weston Road, Stafford, ST18 0YY.

Overview of Service Requirements: Staffordshire Police are currently in the process of establishing requirements for the future provision of Police Custodial Detention Services ahead of the planned re-tendering of services later this year.

The Police Force is responsible for planning and specifying the services to be delivered and for commissioning services from suitable providers, managing the delivery of services that is complaint with Authorised Professional Practice (APP) and Police & Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE).

The services currently provided include the provision of suitable trained Detention Officers, under the control and direction of the Custody Sergeant, that are responsible for the reception, detention, welfare and disposal of detainees and other attendees whilst in the custody suite.

The deadline for Expressions of Interest is on or before midday on Thursday 28th June 2018.
