Stockport Council ("The Council") is seeking bids from potential suppliers, for the provision of a Transport Planning System.
The Stockport Travel Co-ordination Team is part of and co-located with the SEN team.
The service consists of a core team of 3 officers who co-ordinate travel assistance and provision of transport for eligible children, young people and adults with special educations needs and disability (SEND).
The team works on a geographical basis to find the most cost effective way to transport eligible clients to and from educational establishments within and outside borough of Stockport.
There are approximately 580 vulnerable clients that are provided with transport, each having individual requirements.
The team currently does not use any route-planning software and route-planning is time-consuming and inefficient.
