The brief

Well Wave is a Youth Sexual Wellness service for 13-24 year olds that offers friendly, confidential information and support around sex and relationships as well as c-card registration, free condoms and lube, pregnancy testing, and STI testing for chlamydia and gonorrhoea.

The young people's workforce are trained to deliver the Well Wave service in the community, in venues where young people feel comfortable, increasing free access to condom products, alongside support, screening and signposting.

Workers are not paid or incentivised to deliver the service, but are provided with resources (including condom products) to distribute, which are funded by Public Health.

A range of products are provided, and Well Wave sites are expected to stock all (internal and external condoms, lube, dams).

Young people are offered a choice of products to encourage them to engage with, try and ultimately find their preferred/most appropriate protection method, that they will use regularly.

£24,000 for two years.
