The Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire and The Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire and The Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire are tendering for three successful providers to provide secure, safe and excellent standard boarding kennels within a reasonable distance of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Police dog handlers.
The Police Authorities aim is to select one Service Provider per Lot to provide the full range of services detailed in the specification for each (Lot 1 – Bedfordshire, Lot 2, Cambridgeshire and Lot 3 Hertfordshire) The tender is separated into LOTs by geographical location as follows; Lot 1 Bedfordshire Lot 2 Cambridgeshire Lot 3 Hertfordshire The service provider must be able to provide access for dog handlers to deliver and collect dogs seven days a week during working hours and by agreement at any other times.
The service provider must provide emergency access if required by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Police Dog Unit 24/7, 365 days per year.
Police dogs are to be kennelled individually.
Only with the approval of the Police dog handler should two dogs be kennelled together.
Police dogs are not to be exercised with any other dogs being cared for by the service provider.
The service provider shall at all times hold a current licence under the Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963 and shall not allow the standards of the kennels to fall below the standards required by the Act.
Please note that the contract value listed covers the lifetime of the contract (4 years) and is for the entire Framework Contract covering Lot 1 , Lot 2 and Lot 3.
Please note that we do not guarantee to board any dogs with the successful service provider per Lot.
