The brief

Portsmouth City Council are seeking quotes for the provision of a Radio and GPS solution.

The council's current Radio and GPS solution is based on the Neocom TRBOnet platform, utilising, Motorola DP 3601, Motorola DP4801 and Motorola SL4000 portable digital radios, Motorola DM4601 vehicle digital radios and Motorola DR3000 digital radio receivers.

This solution will be continuing due to its continued performance and this solution is required to operate with the following expectations: o The proposed version of the solution must be a proven working package, fully developed, tested and implemented in other public sector organisations. o The expected life of the solution is 3 to 5 years and it must be fully supportable for that duration. o There should be an active user group that meets regularly and has an input to the future development of the product o The solution must allow 5 concurrent users of the application with an anticipated 20 % growth per year. o The solution must allow user's access from a minimum of 2 PCC sites and 2 GBC sites distributed throughout Portsmouth and Gosport along with the surrounding areas. o The solution must allow all licensed user's access from any PCC device and any GBC device without further license or cost implications. o All address data must be held in BS7666 format. o The solution must provide continuous availability of the production environment, with no single point of failure in the design. o The Service Provider must provide a radio and integrated GPS tracking system that is operational 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
