The brief

The Wandsworth and Richmond Tier 2 Adult Weight Management (AWM) Service has been commissioned to support the local eligible population within the London Boroughs of Richmond Upon Thames and Wandsworth with excess weight.

The Tier 2 AWM service will have universal access but will have a targeted focus on people faced with health inequalities and will deliver programmes that contribute to addressing increasing equity for different at-risk populations.

The aim of the Service will be to provide a non-clinical weight management offer to enable individuals to lose weight safely within the context of a comprehensive approach to prevent and treat obesity.

The multi-component group support service will be based on the guidelines and quality standards of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
