Background Greater Cambridge Shared Waste Service (GCSWS) is a partnership between South Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridge City Council, delivering waste collection services across the Greater Cambridge area.
In 2026, GCSWS is rolling out weekly food waste collections to approximately 140,000 households, significantly expanding operations.
