Scarborough Borough Council (SBC) is to construct a new Whitby Maritime Training Hub (WMTH) to support the maritime and marine sectors.
The overall vision of the WMTH will be “to become a renowned centre of maritime/marine training and enterprise which strengthens and supports the local, regional, national and international maritime and marine sectors and embodies traditional and 21st century maritime culture.” SBC recognises that a skilled and experienced operator of the WMTH will be required to fully maximise its potential as an integrated hub to develop and support traditional and emerging sectors across a wide range of operational, education and support disciplines, therefore, SBC proposes to acquire an independent operator for the WMTH to manage the Hub on its behalf.
