The brief

Bradford Council are seeking Providers of semi-independent accommodation and support for 16+ Care leavers and vulnerable young People.

Whilst there is a preference for Bradford children to be placed in the Bradford district there is also a need to have accommodation and support placements across the West Yorkshire region to support Young People who prefer not to live in the Bradford district or young people who have risks and vulnerabilities that require an out of area placement.

Ofsted has announced its intentions to regulated and implement National standards for independent and semi-independent provision for looked after children and care leavers aged 16 and 17.

Ofsted will begin registering providers from April 2023 ahead of the new national standards becoming mandatory for all providers from Autumn 2023 – at which point all providers will need to be registered – and the first full inspections are expected to begin from April 2024.
