DVSA - Pre-Market Engagement Event - Driving Simulation Tool - Tuesday 25th July 2023 14.00 - 15.30 ***This advert is for market engagement only - this is not a procurement at this stage*** The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) would like to invite you to join a pre-market engagement event for an exciting, innovative requirement, "A Driving Simulation Tool" on Tuesday the 25th of July, from 14.00 to 15.30.
The requirement: A prototype for a driving simulator that will replicate a practical in-car driving test to support new entrant driver examiner training.
Background to the Requirement: Currently, an assessment drive takes place as part of the recruitment process, this is to understand if the driving ability of the trainee driving examiner meets the DVSA's high standard.
The course lasts approximately 6 weeks with practical and classroom elements.
It is hoped that a driving simulator will be able to assist in testing the abilities of the trainee driving examiners in a no risk environment.
This will aid training as a simulated test can run in different locations instead of the 10 current driver training centres.
The event is aimed at: - Suppliers with experience of developing driving simulator solutions.
The event does not form part of a formal procurement but will inform the formal tender in due course.
Registration details: To confirm your attendance, please email dstcommercial@dvsa.gov.uk, including the reference K280022081 in the subject line before 12:00 on Friday 21st July.
Please provide details of a maximum of two attendees.
Attendance will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Further documentation and a link to the Teams call will be sent before the event.
In order to ensure anonymity for any commercially sensitive questions, we will be using Slido to facilitate Q&A.
There will be a 1-week clarification period after the event to provide an opportunity to give feedback or ask questions.
The responses to all questions will be shared with everyone.
Please note that the DVSA reserves the right not to run a procurement.
The approach may change and will be fully outlined within any published procurement documents.
