When this comes round again

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON's Software & IT Systems cycle is past due — it ran about every 6 months across 9 notices, and the door is open now. It may re-tender at any time.

43% of UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON’s awards go to a supplier it has used before.

Which is the argument for getting on the list rather than winning this one. The incumbent is rarely the last winner — it is the roster. See the retention odds by category →

The brief

This is a Soft Market Test Exercise being conducted by the University of Southampton (the University), this is not an invitation to tender.

Project Description The University currently relies on manual processes, legacy systems, and a patchwork of tools, which do not effectively meet its training management needs.

The University is seeking to modernise and enhance the management and delivery of internal training delivery for its approximately 5000 staff members.

The University needs to be able to advertise a catalogue of courses for consumption by internal staff, students, and some specific external groups to register, attend and complete training, then to store and report on the resultant training records.

All forms of training need to be accommodated from Face to Face to fully digital and asynchronous.

The training will include mandatory training and cyclical training need to be supported for organisation wide requirements like Health and Safety, and area specific, specialist training.

Various roles across the organisation need to be able to report on training activity.

Please Note: The University is conducting this soft market testing exercise to allow interested parties, with appropriate experience, to outline their views and provide impartial information to the University with no commitment to themselves or the University.

This is not a call for competition at this stage.

The deadline for clarifications is 15/12/2023 at 12.00 Noon, the deadline for Questionnaire submissions is 05/01/2024 at 12.00 Noon.
