The Council has a requirement to appoint suitably qualified and experienced contractor to deliver the services, undertaking the felling and harvesting of ash trees affected by Class 3 and 4 ash dieback disease within a heavily visited public site.
The Contractor shall comply with all applicable felling licence conditions, FISA guidance, British Standards, environmental legislation and health and safety requirements relevant to the works.
The scope of services includes the provision of the following: • Additional Pre-works & Surveys and obtain any additional permissions and licences required to complete the works • Forestry services including the felling, removal, and disposal of infected ash trees with exemption where other trees are impeding access to the ash. • Arboriculture related works and services including pruning of nearby trees to prevent damage during the felling of infected ash trees • Ground preparation/Reinstatement Works of the areas to a suitable condition for natural regeneration of trees and public access The proposed contract contains the following service provision lots based on geographical locations: Lot 1: Banstead Downs & Park Downs Lot 2: Banstead Heath & Burgh Heath Lot 3: Reigate Hill
