The scope of the proposed Contract includes: To carry out where required the removal and remedial work on licensed and non-licensed asbestos containing materials within Community Gateway Associations domestic and commercial properties.
All works are to be carried out in accordance with current Legislation, Codes of Practice and Official Guidance.
A full list of all Community Gateway properties is set out within Annex 1 of this document.
The Contract must comply with the following standards: All work must be undertaken strictly in compliance with the following Statutes, Statutory Instruments, Approved Codes of Practice and Guidance (this list is not exhaustive and further regulations / guidance etc. must be adhered to in all instances):- • The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 • The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 • HSG 247 - Asbestos: The Licensed Contractors' Guide • HSG 248 - Asbestos control limits, measurement of airborne dust concentrations and assessment of control measures (Revised June 2005) • HSG53 - Respiratory Protective Equipment at Work • The Hazardous Wastes Regulations 2005 • The Environmental Protection Act 1990The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 • The Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992 • The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 The main objectives associated with the contract are: • To provide an emergency contact phone number available 24 hours a day. • Compliance with regulatory standards • Achieve Value for Money • Customer Satisfaction • Health and Safety of all affected persons during the works and for the entire life of the contract The Contract shall be for an initial period of 3 years, with an option to extend for up to a further additional 2 years.
