The brief

The Science Museum Group ("SMG") operates a growing ecommerce proposition supporting the sale of products associated with the Science Museum and the National Railway Museum.

Ecommerce is an important commercial channel, serving customers throughout the UK and internationally, and contributes to SMG's revenue generation and visitor engagement objectives.

SMG's ecommerce platform is operated on Shopify Plus and includes a range of own-brand, exhibition-related, educational and retail merchandise products.

The appointed supplier will be required to provide third-party logistics and fulfilment services that support a high-quality customer experience and align with SMG's brand values and service expectations.

SMG’s current contract is with an external third-party logistics provider for warehousing and fulfilment services.

The existing contract expires on 30 June 2027 and SMG is seeking to appoint a provider to support a managed transition and seamless commencement of fulfilment services from 1 July 2027.
