The brief

The Councils are seeking to award a framework agreement for the provision of an Arboriculture Services Framework within the boundaries of the three local authorities and for external clients (across South Wales).

The Councils manage thousands of trees including those on the highway, parks and open spaces, Countryside areas, Social Services establishments, car parks, schools and Estates land.

In order to fulfil its duty of care it seeks to continue to assess and maintain trees in its ownership with regards to their health and structural integrity.

In addition, the Councils undertake landscape maintenance work for external clients including some of the major housing developers across South Wales.

The framework will encompass a wide range of tree survey and maintenance services for existing trees as well as the supply of trees and shrubs.

Work tasks under the framework will be raised on an ongoing basis and will be very varied in scope and scale ranging from one off specialist tree operations to routine maintenance of trees.
