The brief

Summary: Upgrade of facilities on the Layer de la Haye recreation ground, replacing/upgrading some of the existing equipment as well as extending the type of equipment available.

The chosen supplier will be able to supply and install all equipment to appropriate safety standards, as well as ensuring safety during works, removal of all spoils/waste and the provision of safety inspections.

Install within 6 months of contract award is desired, although it is recognised that weather my impact this timeline.

Hence the estimated contract duration is suggested as 12 months to cover all eventualities.

Detail: We want to engage a single supplier for the entire solution install - Recreation Ground Refresh on New Cut, Layer de la Haye, opposite the Village Hall.

Out of the existing items, we want to keep the following: • Nest swing • Space net We want to remove: • Existing 2 pairs of swings • Existing child trim trail Anything not mentioned in the keep/remove sections above, we are open to your suggestions (e.g. the existing slide could stay or be removed if replaced by something more modern).

We want the following: • A design proposal that considers best flow and suitable separation between age related elements (don't be constrained by the current layout) • Basketball/football nets (for the existing basketball courts) - no solid panels and rectangular in shape.

Renew surface.

Consider location - where it is, or should we move it (e.g. to accommodate siting of a zip wire)? • 10 to 12 separate pieces of teen to adult gym equipment (i.e. not built as one unit) • Accessible carousel for all capabilities (wheelchair/able bodied) • Accessible trampoline (wheelchair and able bodied alike) • 4-seater see saw (with tyres as bump stops) • Inclusive sensory panels/boards to engage a variety of ages in creative play and/or communication • Trim trail including stepper platforms, crawl net, spiders web climber, curved traverse net • Swings - 5 in total - 2 normal, 2 baby 1 inclusive (if can be used by abled child too) • 4 tower junior multi-play • Preschool junior play ship • Teen pod with normal seating, wind break side covering and no table • Coloured wet pour where appropriate (quote for just under kit or an entire area), advise what is best for maintenance • Grass matting where needed • For gym - all in a line or square, what is the best surface? • Zip wire - but where? (placement to take into account any potential resident concerns...) All quotes must include: • Signage for all kit as appropriate plus additional CCTV/general warning signs (enough to cover whole recreation area so will depend on design) • Recommended annual plan for routine maintenance and independent inspection regime • Insurance cover for product left on site before install and secure storage (i.e. supplier retains responsibility in the case of vandalism/theft until fully installed) • Removal of all spoils • Delivery/Install and Harris Fencing or other security measures • Welfare provision • Length of warranty period • Lead time to deliver and install
