The brief

Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) is changing how it contracts for Residential and Nursing Care from 2026/27.

Following feedback from providers and other stakeholders, we are developing a new contractual arrangement to replace the current Pre-Placement Contract.

The new contract will cover residential care, nursing care, and short-term/respite placements for adults aged 18 and over, including people with needs relating to frailty, dementia, physical disabilities, acquired brain injury, learning disabilities, mental health, autism and forensic support.

The arrangement has a total maximum value of £816 million.
