The brief

Banbury Town Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from contractors who wish to be shortlisted for this work.

Once the shortlist has been drawn up a full contract specification will be sent out to the prospective tenderers.

The work is to be undertaken in September 2018 and will be phased, according to submitted sums for the work, over several years with one or more footpaths refurbished annually.

The footpaths are bitmac surfaced with the Town Council seeking the new surface to also be with a bitmac coating.

People's Park is the most prestigious park in the town so only contractors with a background in undertaking similar work in this type of location will be considered.

Details of the proposed work can be found in the attached contract brief.

Initially it is the paths around the War Memorial in the park that are the Town Council's first priority in readiness for the commemoration events in November to mark the centenary of the ending of the First World War.

It is for this purpose that all work must be completed by the end of September 2018.
