When this comes round again

Chichester District Council's Environment & Waste cycle is past due — it ran about every 5 months across 4 notices, and the door is open now. It may re-tender at any time.

15% of Chichester District Council’s awards go to a supplier it has used before.

Which is the argument for getting on the list rather than winning this one. The incumbent is rarely the last winner — it is the roster. See the retention odds by category →

The brief

The Environmental Protection Act 1990 allows Chichester District Council (CDC), Adur District Council and Worthing Borough Council (A&W) to collect commercial waste from businesses and a charge be levied for this service.

The Council’s Business Waste and Recycling Service is well established, has a good local reputation and has successfully expanded in recent years.

The Councils have a duty of care to ensure all waste collected is properly disposed of and must therefore have a contract in place with a supplier to provide processing and disposal services.

Tender documentation is being readied.

To support this, both CDC and A&W are currently exploring options in respect of their requirements.

It is expected at present that A&W requirements will largely mirror that of CDC.

Confirmation of this will be available prior to publication of tender documents.
