The brief

The works will be conducted at the old Dog and Cat Shelter on Claremont Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

There is a significant slope/change of height on the site which varies by approximately 3 metres and the project looks to level.

The site currently houses the old buildings within which there are some signs of asbestos present.

There are coal seams beneath the site with a potential for below ground grouting to be conducted.

The scope of works for this project includes, but is not limited to the following: • Demolition of existing dog kennel buildings, • Levelling of site, • New build of two kennel blocks, • 1 single storey kennel block and 1 two-storey block housing administration/supporting facilities on the first floor, • Landscaping works; and • Large area fenced and landscaped to provide exercise area for dogs on Hunters Moor.
