What the notice says

Not fully read: this is the notice text; attached documents are not read.

The total value of this contract is indicative only and has been provided as a ceiling amount for transparency purposes.

This work has been made as a direct award as it is a continuation of the IMO Fire Door Works - Phase 1 Riser Doors, the scope of the tendered work comprised:

• Replacement of timber riser doors within Cores A, B and C.

• Replacement of timber stairwell entrance doors within Core A.

• Maintenance and repair works to timber stairwell entrance doors within Cores B and C.

The outline scope of works following the above contractors design portion shall comprise, but is not limited to, the following:

• All repairs and replacement of fire doors

The contractor is independently responsible for assessing the condition of all fire doors within the scope and ensuring that all works are completed in accordance with relevant standards and certification requirements.

As part of the condition assessment, opening up architraves revealed concerns in existing fire-resisting construction and substrate. An independent fire engineer was appointed to review the situation and assess the proposed remedial work.

The work covered by this direct award is to undertake the approved remedial work relating to construction and substrate to allow the contractor to fulfil the scope of work in the original tender.

This contract is a regulated below-threshold contract within the meaning of section 84 of the Procurement Act 2023. Its estimated value is below the relevant threshold in Schedule 1 to the Act and, accordingly, the procurement is not a covered procurement. The contract was awarded in accordance with the authority's internal procurement and governance procedures.

This procurement is treated as a standalone award under the Procurement Act 2023. However, delivery of the associated works will be managed under an existing NEC4 contract between the parties via a compensation event. Accordingly, the contract published under ocds-h6vhtk-05a00c will govern delivery of the works.
