The brief

Kirklees Council is looking into a potential procurement option to put in place future contractual arrangements for suitably qualified and experienced organisations to deliver Scheme Management, 24/7 Core Service and Planned Care and Support Services within established Extra Care schemes.

Kirklees Council has a portfolio of Extra Care schemes across the borough.

This upcoming tender is in relation the 3 original schemes developed in Kirklees: Woodland Court in Dewsbury (46 flats, opened in 2013), Sandy Mount in Crosland Moor, Huddersfield (41 flats, opened in 2014), and Meadow Green in Heckmondwike (43 flats), which incorporates Meadow Green Lodge (10 flats for people living with dementia), opened in 2014.

Together, these schemes provide 140 one and two-bedroom apartments for rent and form part of a wider housing, care and support model.

The housing and building management arrangements are delivered through a long-term Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract, currently managed by Pinnacle on behalf of the Council.
