The brief

Within the next 18 months the Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales intends to set up a framework for the replacement of the Cell Management Systems at the South Wales Police Custody Suites.

Initially, there is a requirement to replace part or all of the Cell Management System at Cardiff Bay Custody Suite, due to the current System having reached of life.

The System is currently made up of: 1) CCTV and recording equipment 2) Affray strip alarm & indication 4) Sound recording microphones 5) In-cell call system 6) Intercoms 7) Remote Access At present there is no specific plan to replace the Systems at the other custody suites (Bridgend, Merthyr and Swansea) however, during the lifetime of the framework, the successful supplier may also be required to replace any of these Systems.

The framework will also cover planned maintenance, of any replacement system, for the duration of any call-off contract.
